You receive the same comprehensive benefits as all members of the DAK-Gesundheit health insurance fund and pay one of the lowest premiums of any German health insurance fund. The only requirement is that you remain a member for three years, unless you return to your home country before then.

Contribution rate
The DAK-Gesundheit contribution rate is currently 17.4% (including additional contribution) of your gross income. Half of this is paid by you and half by your employer. In addition, 3.6% of your gross income goes towards mandatory long-term care insurance.

Example: You are a trainee nurse in Germany and earn 16,000 euros per year. You pay 116 euros per month for your health insurance with DAK-Gesundheit. With the one-time premium of 120 euros per year, your monthly contribution is effectively reduced to 106 euros.
