You may be subject to compulsory health insurance in, for example, Germany or another EU country, Switzerland or the UK, or you may have full health insurance cover whilst temporarily residing in another country. Furthermore, you must be no older than 59 years when you submit your application.
The minimum contract term is 3 months and the maximum term is 5 years. You can apply for the Option plan again if, for example, you become subject to compulsory insurance in your home country on a regular basis – such as for a seasonal job – or if you regularly work for extended periods in your home country or another country whilst based in a different country.
