Who is eligible for coverage?

Holidays are the best time of the year. It is annoying enough if you cannot take them. To avoid being left with sometimes high cancellation costs, you should take out travel cancellation insurance.
Insurance is available for persons with a permanent address in Germany or Austria.

What are the insurance benefits?

If you or fellow travelers unexpectedly become seriously ill, have an accident, cannot tolerate a vaccination or unexpectedly have to go on short-time work, for example, it may be necessary to cancel a trip. For these and many other insured reasons, the travel cancellation insurance will cover the costs of cancellation or rebooking. For example, our travel cancellation insurance also covers you if close relatives or people who care for or look after your relatives unexpectedly fall seriously ill.

In addition to travel cancellation insurance, we recommend taking out travel interruption insurance (holiday guarantee). This reimburses costs incurred if you have to interrupt your trip or cut it short. You can take out travel interruption insurance together with your travel cancellation insurance.

In times of pandemic, unfortunately, you may have to go into quarantine at any time. If this means that you cannot go on a trip, we recommend taking out additional coronavirus protection. This insurance reimburses costs incurred if you are unable to go on a trip due to quarantine or a refusal of carriage. Incidentally, it also applies to trips to countries for which the Federal Foreign Office has issued a travel warning. You can add the coronavirus protection for the first trip of the year directly in the online application.

What does the insurance cost?

An individual pays a premium starting at €69 for trips worth €2,000 each. Combined with trip interruption insurance, the premium is only €73.
